Claimant says:
"About June 11th I was in Menards and was purchasing some half-inch copper pipe and some 1.5 inch PVC pipe plus some other fittings. I had put the copper pipe inside the PVC pipe in order to not damage the pipe and make it easier to transport.When I got to the register the clerk rang up my items and I paid. What I had not realized was that she did not charge me for the copper and as a result I was charged with retail theft and told me that I would be charged with trespassing if I entered a Menards again. Now since then my court charges had gotten dismissed and I was told to contact Menards corp. to get the trespass lifted so that I could still buy my supplies there. I have contacted Menards Corp. and they told me that I would have to pay the restitution of 150.00 and so I did that also. Then I was told that that person could not lift the trespass that I would have to talk to the store that implemented it. So I did that and was told that he could not lift it and the supporting reason was that I basically admitted being guilty by paying the restitution and that that was as much as he could do for me. Now I know now that it was a dumb mistake putting one pipe inside the other but that is exactly what is was " a mistake" Thank you"
