Claimant says:
"I was referred to Maaco of Lisle IL from another vendor who recommended that I bring my 1999 Ford cobra Mustang to have entire car re-painted. I thought great, it's always good to get referred. I live off referrals for my business. The initial experience was great. The car had paint chipping on the roof from bird poop and paint was starting to crack everywhere. I was told that after stripping the hood down to metal and repairing the cracks, the car would look as good as new. Great! I had no issues at that time. The price was initially around $2500. After about a week I received a phone call asking me to come in and take a look at the car that had been primed and ready for paint. I was then told to pay for additional time needed to fix the roof properly, it had a miner dent across the roof that he did not detect in the initial consultation. Ok I thought. understandable. I agreed to pay more money to have fixed. Once the car came out of paint, I came to review and noticed the driver door still had cracks and flaws all over, that there was still small dents in the door that were not fixed. Vijay the owner then explained to me that unless I have the car completely sanded down to metal it would not be corrected. Also that sand blasting the car would have been the better route to go. Why didn't he state that at the beginning? Ok I said, but I wanted to have the paint look correct so Vijay told me it was more money to have repaired correctly. I agreed! I got my car back and after returning home I went over the car and noticed all the deficiencies and boy was there a ton of them. The seems had paint runs, paint drips on the engine hood and front bumper, paint imperfections on every panel, burn swirl marks from buffing. I was told the only thing they would re-paint was the hood and bumper, so I dropped them off with out the car. I went back and saw the bumper and there's still paint issues all over. He refused to fix. I began to get very upset and he felt that I was getting hostile and called the police on me...I ended leaving very upset, the paint job that was supposed to be around $2500 ended costing me $2000 more. Now I have black tar stuff flying out of my vents and getting all over my leather interior and my clothes. What a horrible experience and I will never step foot back there again, nor will I ever recommend them for any type of work!!!!"
