Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"We hired the company to trim deadwood, broken branches and some branches hanging over a neighbor's house on the north side of our property (which is all spelled out in the estimate). There are three large silver maple trees on our property. They came out on May 1, 2013 and did what we thought was a good job so they were paid $400 on that date (by check. On May 11, 2013 there was a wind storm which brought down a dead branch on my daughter's car which was parked in the driveway. We do have a witness that saw the branch come down. She would like them to pay the "act-of-God" deductible of $250. Also, I have called and called them to come back out and take a second look for deadwood. They did respond to me the first time I called, but after I explained that I wanted them to come out and take down at least two dead branches that are hanging over our driveway, they have not returned my calls in the last two weeks. I have been leaving messages almost daily."

  • Lakewood has had at least 4 company names. I dealt with them when they were American Lumber Jack Tree Service. My parents and I both hired them to remove trees from our yards. Several of the workers are convicted felons and they make that known to intimidate. They removed the trees but when it came time to stump them per our agreement, they said that their machine was "broke" and that they would have to come back tomorrow to do so. My parents and I paid them in good faith for their time and never heard back from them again. After about 20 calls not returned, we hired another company to stump the trees. They since changed their name to Lakewood.

  • There is no way they should be responsible for your daughter's deductible! Why? Because a storm came and knocked a branch onto her car? They did a job, you paid them and said they did a good job...How are they supposed to know that a storm will come and take down a branch? That's what you have insurance for, and you are responsible for your deductible on every comprehensive claim (which is what that claim was). If they're not returning your calls, it's probably because you are either badgering them to pay for something that they do not owe, and/or are trying to get them to do work for free (which they do not owe) or you are a pain in the a** customer that they do not wish to do any further business with! (I know in my business, I have plenty of those also) Hire a different tree service to do the additional work you want done. It's pretty simple! Everyone feels that they are owed by someone, why not take responsibility for your own life and quit looking for freebies from everyone else! I'm so sick of the public's sense of entitlement anymore!

  • We live in Plymouth Township and had a wonderful experience with Lakewood Tree Service.
We had 5 trees removed and 2 trees trimmed. The service was excellent, the work was professional, and we would hire Lakewood Tree Service in Northville, Michigan again. We would also recommend Lakewood to our friends. We're very satisfied customers!
