Claimant says:
"In January of 2017, I was scammed by a computer hacking company called UBC Global who told me that I had been hacked by Russians and they had stollen my Email address. Also my bank accounts were in danger of being hacked. In reality, that had happened, but was resolved by contacting the bank and the local police department. As for the Email - I foolishly allowed them to access my computer and they let me see all the supposed "hits." I later found out that they took down all my firewalls and anti-virus, etc. I later found out they were based in India.
Again, I was contacted by Genius Technologies LLC in Newark, CA with a similar jargon. Having being fooled once, I was reticent to take the offer, but was interested in the security software. They offered me a 20 year guarantee at a price would be comparable to the 3 yr contracts offered by reputable software distributors for the same time period. They promised to restore my security, which they did and then some. Also, they promised to go after UBC Global which they have not done. I have written and called several times and spoken to techs, supervisors and the manager without effect. Therefore I am serving a claim for $599.99 (UBC contract) + $44.03(overnight shipping) = $644.02."
