Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I was using the restroom while sitting on the toilet .a sudden explosion happened and all of a sudden I felt my body burning in all areas my neck head lower bottom.and that's when I realized it was piceses of glass melting into my body went to the E.R the doctor gave me a tetanus shot and said do too the second degree burns it could get infected.my pain level was at a 7 couldn't sit down at all with out having more intense pain do to the second degree burns.im left with scares and I no longer turn the lights on in the bathroom when using it I leave the door open for now on .I have pictures the light bulb and videos doctor records and the box that the light bulbs came in.G.E hasn't contacted me back to handle the situation instead I half to call multiple times.the light bulb was a 1270 LUMENS 120V ULTRA SOFT WHITE. 72AW/H/USW/4PK « Show less"

    Following up on our telephone discussion yesterday, you were going to send me your copy of the ER records. If you would kindly do so, that would be appreciated. If you sought any additional medical treatment other than the ER, please advise.


    Additionally, I would like to follow up on our request to have the bulb remnants returned to GE for analysis. GE Lighting takes these claims very seriously and would like to ensure that a proper analysis is done to evaluate what may have occurred.

    In an effort to resolve this matter now as you have requested, I did consult with 5 of my colleagues and showed them the pictures that you provided of the burns you sustained. I am willing to offer you $3,000.00 to resolve this claim. This offer is contingent upon your closure/withdrawal of the people claim you currently have pending and we do require that you sign a full release of claims which includes a confidentiality provision.
