Claimant says:
"On 09/18/13, I entered into an Agreement to have my roof replaced. I was told a crew was “Immediately” available x3. Eric Nelson said he was finishing (2) other projects but there should be no problem because he has two crews. Mr. Nelson needed 50% deposit ($7,250.00) within 24 hrs to obtain materials for the project scheduled to begin the following week on 09/26/13. I had to put this amount on a home equity loan. On 09/25/13, he left a message stating he was behind on one job and had a complication with the shingles on the other job. My roof was next to be done. His ongoing scenarios/excuses regarding why he could not get my roof completed has gone on for three months. He tied up my money so I could not hire another contractor; and threatened me with cancellation and restocking fees when I requested to cancel in November. On 11/09/13, he left me a very condescending and rude message saying I’m one of those people that do not understand outdoor construction. It is true, there were many bad weather days but also good weather days. I am aware of four roofs installed during this time, one was across the street from me. On 12/3/13, he left me a message saying he was sorry he couldn’t get to my job but he had 36 roofs to do in 2 weeks and was overbooked with not enough crews. Business sounds very good! At this point he was apologetic and offered my deposit back. The problem is his word can obviously not be trusted. I have yet to get my deposit back. He told me he had all the documents needed from the village for my permit, yet as of 12/6/13, according to the village Building Dept, this was not true. I can find no evidence of Construction Logistics, Inc being currently incorporated in the state of Illinois, yet he holds himself out as such. I also see complaints online from other individuals regarding Eric Nelson. Construction Logistics is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has an overall rating of “F.” I did not research Mr. Nelson because he came by reference from a friend who was a satisfied customer in summer 2012. I have learned from this experience, even in the presence of a positive referral a contractor should be researched. The Agreement document should include a termination date and state terms & conditions regarding cancelation or broken promises. The contract I agreed to was very poorly constructed. My advice is to avoid doing all business with Construction Logistics, Inc. Mr. Nelson said his business had not done well in 2013, if this is how he treats his clients, I can understand why this is."

    She has since passed from Lung Cancer, Mr Nelson has been informed he is to complete the work as soon as weather permits or charges will be filed.
