Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I tried to use the ironing board located in a strange spot next to the door and because it was not anchored into the wall properly the whole thing fell down, the iron hit me on the side of my head, bruising my head and leaving a small but deep cut on my ear. We called the manager and he asked if the iron still worked and left it at that. He didn't try to resolve the issue or even apologize but he took pictures of my injury in case we went to court. I was very upset, especially after having a difficult time with the check in clerk who didn't seem to know what he was doing like how to book is a non-smoking room with a pet or how to check a reservation. He gave me the total, I asked specifically if it included the pet fee since it was already more than it was advertised to be by $20, he pointed to the receipt and showed me that I had indeed paid for the pet and room. The next day he printed a receipt for me that was $12 more than the night before. So not only was it a terrible experience, but it was more expensive than a nicer hotel I would have gone to if they had been honest about the amount I would pay and didn't even try to accommodate or apologize for the injury be aside of their negligent maintenance of the equipment in the room. Obviously I was quite upset, and honestly didn't know what to do about the situation because I don't want to go to a doctor or drag it out. I just want them to be held accountable."
