Claimant says:
"I contracted E.C. Japanese and Trans to install a rebuilt engine in my 1987 toyota corolla sport coupe, and since the install on 18 Mach 2008 I have had a total of 4 head gaskets installed on this car. Three of which was installed by this company. E.C Japanese Engines, wanted to keep me as a customer, but I spent a total amount of $2,174.28, up to this point.
I contracted Tin Shed Auto to install the fourth gasket. After the head was removed and sent to the machinist, I was told the reason the last head gasket failed was because the head was sanded with a belt sander , and not milled by a machinist. Cross etch paterns from sanding pads and low areas between cylinders were found by A.F.M. Machinist Eric Clark, for this reason the head failed, causing my car to overheat. Also after all damage clean up the head was at its limits and cannot be resurfaced again.
When my vechicle was back running again I sent a certified letter of complaint. Letter was notarized to this company stating poor workmanship found by the machinist. I ask for a 30 day responce, and refund for two head gaskets that failed on my car for a total of $1156.08. I felt this was fair, but if there was no responce than I was going to the better businness bureau, then small claims court. It has past the 30 day period, and I am moving on to step two.
In ending I am willing to see this issue out to the end, and let people know how disatified I am with E.C Japanese Engines and Trans."
