Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased a new Whirlpoolo dryer from Drye Supply on March 11, 2016 and it waws delivered and hooped up on Monday, March 14. I went to dry a load of clothes on March 15 and it blew a circuit breaker. Once the circuit breaker was reset the dryer ran but had no heat. I contacted Drye supply on Tuesday and was informed there was nothing they could do as they couldn't
provide me with a new replacement dryer and that I had to go through the warranty with Whirlpool. I then contacted Whirlpool on 3/15 and a repairman was sent out on 3/17. I was told a thermostat part needed to be ordered and it came in on Monday 3/21 and was put in on Tuesday 3/22. The same repairman, Scott informed me that the dryer still didn't work after putting in the new thermostat. Scott the repairman troubleshot the problem over the phone with Whirlpool and he waqs informed that another part needed to be ordered but it still might not work . It was ordered and expected to arrive on Good Friday 3/25 and possibly he would be back out on Monday 3/28. Scott the repairman informed me that he was sorry but he knew
of many customers that had problems with Whirlpool and they would have to call and cvall and write letters and sometimes Whirlpool would take care of it and sometime they would not.
I went back to Drye Supply on Tuesday 3/22 to inform them personally of the problem and was told again that the dryer was not returnable. They will not stand behind their product and
neither will Whirlpool. I am stuck with a lemon that does not work and have been inconvenienced for 2 weeks going on 3.

Update 4/23/16

I would like them to give me a 3 yr extended warranty without charge since my dryer did not work when I received it."

  • This is in response to your request for a new dryer. You contacted Whirlpool Corporation customer service on March 15, 2016 -- thirteen days ago. The warranty on this appliance is a "repair warranty" and there are no provisions regarding exchanges. Whirlpool Corporation recommends you complete the repair in progress.

  • I was never told that this dryer could not be returned if originally defective as it did not work when I received it. I as the consumer feel ripped off.

  • I do not feel that Drye Supply has done their part as a dealer. In my life I have never had such poor handling of a problem. They have not accepted any responsibility at all

    that authority. As the customer, I sure have been
    taken advantage of. I would never deal with Drye Sup
    Supply or Whirlpool again.

  • Whirpool's repairman fixed the dryer finally...However, I feel that because I bought a new dryer which did not work when I received that the company should give me a 5 yr free extended warranty. I do not trust this dryer.
