Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased this vehicle April 4, 2015 and have had to put a used engine in - used engine was put in on July 16, 2015 with a cost of $1,800.00; On September 7, 2015 my daughter broke down on a major interstate an hour away from home where I had to have the vehicle towed to a mechanic - cost of towing was $116.00; I found out from the mechanic that the fuel pump was bad and had to have a new one put in - cost was $753.95; Truck started running bad again, e.g. it was slipping and didn't want to shift gears so again I took it to a mechanic where I was told that the transmission was going out and I was living on borrowed time. This mechanic charged me only $20.00 to look at it. I believe the owner of the dealership sold me a lemon and is absolutely, 100% defiant and rude and will not help in anyway to compensate for any damages. I realize I bought a used vehicle and an older one and expected to possibly have some minor issues, however, I did not think I would have to put in a different engine, a new fuel pump and find out that the transmission was going. I have owned this vehicle for roughly 6 months and paid just under $4,500.00 and since then I have put into the truck $2,689.95 in repairs and towing. I feel the owner of the dealership sold me a lemon and I would like him to take the truck back or pay me for all of the repairs and towing I have put into this truck"

  • I was so worried about my daughter possibly breaking down again in the middle of nowhere in a new town she is not familiar with I have since had to go out and purchase another vehicle.

  • Kathy, I'm sorry that you had a bad vehicle experience, but as we told you before... you bought a 15 year old vehicle with 116,000 miles on it.. It was sold as is that is stated on purchase contract. We inspect the vehicle before we put it up for sale and everything checked out ok at that time. I cant predict what happens 3 months later.

  • What kind of car is it? It sounds terrible. My car has 140,000 miles on it and I haven't had to replace the transmission, let alone an engine.
