Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"was a new customer with an install date of 7-28-2014 . They came and installed direct t.v. and it worked for a short time then had messages on screen signal loss on satellite then it scrambled came on went back out. called the the techanician who in stalled the service he came out 7-29 and fixed the problem he changed the splice and said it should be ok. Well it was not still signal loss. called the direct tv on 7-30 and explained what had happened they said they could not recognize he was at my home because it was not documented in there system. I said i would give then his phone number to verify and they said they could not do that ( Supervisor told me this ). They said they would send out another technician the next day and I said I was unhappy with the service and I wanted to cancel. On 7-31 I requested the service be cancelled and what was there grace period and they said 24 hours!! and I would be charged $450.00 penalty! I told them the T.V. never worked 24 hrs and the cancellation fee was wrong. They said it would be cancelled and 8-1 it was still connected although it was scrambled and no signal loss on satellite. that was all day long. They said it would take 24 hrs to update. I feel this is very un just how they treat the public consumer and I feel strongly that this charge should be cancelled. Their counterpart gives 30 day's as a cancellation date who are they to give 24 hrs."

As you did not report the issue with us and set up an official service call, we would not have a record on you contacting him about the service issue. All technical issues must be reported through the (800) 531-5000 number so we can document this on the account. We would be happy to look into resolving this issue with you; however you will need to speak with our Technical Support Department so we can try to fix this through our process.

    The Early Cancellation Fee does help offset the cost of the equipment discounts we provided to you if you decide not to stay with us because we want to be fair to all of our customers. This way we do not have to adjust our monthly rate for loss of investment with our equipment installations. This also helps us to be able to continue to provide the great discounted offers like the one you received for this equipment by simply asking you to stay with us for 24 months.

  • Received a letter from Directtv from PO Box 6550 Greenwood Village, CO. indicating they notified the collection agency who has been Harassing me for months to cease collection activity but continues to want collection for $ 119.81 that I feel they have no entitlement to, again the service never worked from the day of installment so why should I pay this fee?. Also because of the collection agency activity and Harassment my CREDIT Rating has been smeared and I want all the Credit agency's notified to clean up my credit standard as soon as possible. with notification to me.
