Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"My name is Lisa Jackson. I called to have cable and internet service provided. I spoke with a customer service agent and she took all my information, did a credit check and told me I qualified completely for cable and internet service. They collected 101.00 dollars from me from my debit card, confirmed my installation date as wednesday 27, 2012 between 1 and 4 pm and said a installer will be here. I waited and finally received a call from the installation who said, hey I was 5 minutes from you and I just received a call from Direct TV telling me to not come to your house and canceled your appointment, you should call them that's all I know. I called Direct TV and was told you have the same last name as someone who lived there previously who had a bill so you must be related so we canceled your service. I told them I had been here since 2010, and they still refused to refund my money, and not only that they applied my 101 dollars to this other persons account. Yes they took my money and applied it somebody's else account without me knowing it and I did not even live in the state when this person had their service. This cannot be a legal thing to do. Please give me numbers or someone I can speak to so I can file some kind of charge."

  • what information do you want. I was suppose to receive my cable on wednesday june 27, 2012 the day I wrote the complaint. When I contacted Direct TV I receive the runaround. Finally a supervisor who's name Is on the original complaint, told me that they canceled my service without contacting me because I lived at the same address of someone who had a balance and who's last name was Jackson, so I was being held accountable. I said fine, just give me back my refund, because I had already paid 101.00 and my account was fine. They took my money for internet service, cable service, and geek square service. I was shuffled around from person to person until someone finally told me that the only way I could get my refund back is that I had to call my bank and dispute the charges. I told them I paid the money to you why should I have to call my bank to get my refund and you canceled my service. They told me to take it up with the bank, I had to call my back, cancel my debit card and deal with disputing the charges with them. Direct TV set up an account with me, took my money told me I was approved, gave me a connection date, secretly canceled it and I think this is what they do to collect on past bills even if it is not yours, and they keep your money.
