Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"When i signed up for direct tv in july i was told i would get a 200$ visa gift card. i called customer service and was told it could take 6 weeks i called today and was told i was supposed to sign up on the computer within 1 week after insall of tv. why was i not told this in the beginning? that really is a poor way to treat a new customer."

The claimant's settlement terms were rejected with the following explanation:
  • "Thank you for contacting DIRECTV through PeopleClaim.
    I must explain that PeopleClaim is not connected to our Customer Service. This is a third party site that allows you to post your complaint online. We do monitor this web site as a courtesy as we do try to assist our customers as much as possible. However, I must explain that I do not have access to your account information through this avenue.
    I apologize for any negative experience you had with any of our representatives. Our Customer Service agents are highly trained to meticulously examine the details of each account that they handle and explain any applicable details to our customers in order to prevent issues such as this one from happening. This also applies to retailers. Difficult service experiences like this are rare and we certainly don’t take them lightly. 
    Please call us at (800) 531-5000 to speak with us about this concern. General customer service is available daily from 8 AM to 1 AM ET while technical support is available 24/7 every day.
