Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"Direct Installation Services installed 1808' of Eco Solar Shield, 1808' R-38 insulation, 4 ton Thermo Cool & 1 Solar Attic Fan & in our home Jan 24, 2011. Sales Rep Ernie Tostabo promised it would lower our energy cost by 40 to 50% in a year & if it did not do so the company would either add other energy saving devices or wipe out the remaining debt owing after the 1st year payments. (we received a "customer's written guarantee of performance" stating just about the same thing) We paid $8136.00 with the 1st yr payments being $1150.00 which leaves a balance of $6986.00.

At the end of Jan 2012 our electric kw used in 2010 were 19816.
After installation kw used in 2011 were 19921.

We had gotten in touch with Jennifer @ 1-800-818-2630 in May, June, Aug, & Oct to let them know that the electric usage was not goiing down we sent in copies of bills etc. each time she said someone would be out, but NO ONE CAME. EVER.

We have made repeated follow up calls & left messages since Oct 2011, but have not had any response to our calls. The installation of the Eco Solar System has not done what was promised and the company has not carried thru with what we were promised they would do.

In January 2012 we filed a complaint with BBB which had one reply from Direct Installatin Service that they had been trying to get in touch with us by phone & left messages.

We responded to BBB : We did not receive ANY calls or messages. We have a message machine and caller ID. No messages or numbers were recorded from them.
After our last response to BBB we did get a call from the Houston Area who told us that they would have someone come and check it out. NO ONE CAME.

The customer's written guarantee of performance is as follows:
Eco Solar-Shield guarantees that the Eco Solar-Shield, S.P.A.R.C.S., INSULATION, AND THERMOCOOL POLARIZED AIR CONDITIONING TREATMENT, & WATER HEATER WRAP will perform as described to the customer, by the representative that provided the information or Eco Solar Shield will repair/replace the equipment or add additional energy saving equipment at no charge to the customer until said savings parameters are met. Any Savings parameters represented by said representative prior to purchase at either the Showroom Floor, any Home Show display ar at any In-Home Presentation will be fulfilled. This package should produce aproximately a 40% savings on customer's power bill."
