Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I was sold an extended warranty on my 2006 Grand Cherokee. at the time my vehicle had a little over 175,000 miles on it. when I spoke with the agent, I did not have the "exact" mileage. She told me something like" I can get you a better policy" or " it would be easier" if we put down that you have 174,995. And as long as I didn't put in a claim before 1,000 miles or the first month it would nit be an issue. So I gave her $450.00 and was now covered by Royal Protection Extended warranty Plan. This was on August 7th, 2013. On October 12 2013 my engine blew. I don't know the cause but the mechanic said it would need to be replaced. I called and they said that they needed to have it torn down to the break. this now puts me in debt for $1,000 to the mechanic IF the claim is denied. They send out an adjuster to look at the damage and they deny the claim because of a mileage dispute. because I was at this mechanic and got an oil change on July 20th, 2013 and my Mileage was 175,124. "so how could you have 174,995 on August 7th" was their reasoning. I called and spoke with Customer care, and after having a supervisor call me back, and asking him to listen to the phone call from when I got the contract I was told " well, she must have thought she was trying to help you out, but because the mileage is off we cant reverse the claim". Now to add to this, when I said that I guess my policy is void then because I will get denied on every claim, customer service said, " no we can adjust the mileage and you can continue your coverage" I was also told that "the policy you have isn't available for cars with over 175,000 miles, the only policies offered for that would be engine coverage only" So this would mean, if the girl DIDNT try to "help" me, I would have had engine only coverage, which is exactly what I need. I have been trying to reach the adjuster that denied the claim, but he has not returned any calls. ANTHONY RAGUCCI. I signed on with this company in good faith and it seems that have their sales team sell built in loop holes so they can find a way to deny a claim. All I am looking for is for the coverage I was sold and paid for to be honored."
