Claimant says:
"I had Darrell K. Petersen, a Petaluma CPA prepare and file our tax return for 2012. On May 1,2013 we received a $2,243 billing for his services. Last year our billing for his services was $1,270.00. I called and left a voice message regarding his excessive billing and requested a detailed billing for his services.

On May 21, 2013 we received a response that 16.06 hours was spent on the preparation and filling of our tax return. This included 10.58 hours for the preparation, 3.33 hours to analyze two stock sales and 2.15 hours for final review. Wow

A copy of our tax return, with preparer name blocked out, was given to another CPA Firm in Petaluma for review and estimate cost for them to have done this return. I was told that it would have been in the neighborhood of $750.00.

On May 29, 2013 I wrote a letter to Darrell K. Petersen questioning the hours spent. I also indicated that I had this return reviewed by another CPA firm and their response.

I requested an adjustment of his billing to a more reasonaable fee.

On June 10, 2013 I was notified that his billing was correct and complete. I was also told to pay his bill and engage the future services of another professional.
