Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I purchased a 2003 Honda Civic from Courtesy Motor Company of Thousand Oaks at the end of October 2013. Within a month of purchasing the car, the motor had to be replaced, within a few more weeks that motor had to be replaced. Then there was a cooling problem and once again my granddaughter was stranded tonight when she stopped at a stoplight and black smoke poured from the front of the car. It has been in the shop almost every month since the car was purchased.

Supposedly the car had 83,000 miles when we purchased it and we were provided with a Carfax report that indicated it had regular service. None of this makes sense. I really don't see why this car has the serious and dangerous problems it does. My granddaughter has been stranded at night a number of times as she drives home from work. Honda Civics with 83,000 should not be having these problems.

I am seriously concerned that information about the car was not accurate and indeed the car was not safe when i purchased it.

i would appreciate help."

  • The car has broken down for the third time with black smoke billowing out of the engine. We have been offered a $1000 for junk. How sad I feel that I paid $7000 and 4 weeks later had to replace the engine. The car barely got any mileage in the 6 months my granddaughter had it.
