Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"In March 2018, I purchased 3 properties in Indianapolis from Clayton Morris of Morris Invest. One was a rehab and the other 2 were purchased as new construction properties (yet to be built). I paid $68,500 cash for each property. That was the only way to buy them.
I was assured by Glenn Radford, the sales rep that these properties would be ready in 90 days.
When I inquired by email, I got the run around. I was eventually asked to speak directly with the builder for the new construction because the staff at Morris Invest got tired of answering my repeated questions about the status of the rehab and new construction. The company Morris Invest has no phone number other than the number for the sales rep who never returns calls and the number where you book a call to speak to a sales rep.
When Morris Invest stopped returning my emails, I called the builder, Charlie Watson who told me that another company named Ocean Pointe contracted with him to build homes. Because they stopped paying, he could not proceed. He told me that Morris Invest had a business arrangement with Oceanpointe.
I also received an e-mail from Morris Invest telling me that I should look at my contract because I actually purchased the properties Ocean Pointe.
Here is the irony. The Purchase Agreement was signed by Clayton Morris as the seller and the Closing documents were signed by Oceanpointe. I thought that the logical conclusion would be that Oceanpointe was an entity owned by Clayton Morris.
But I was told that Clayton Morris was just acting as an Agent for Oceanpointe and got a referral fee. He now wanted investors who purchased properties because of Clayton to go out and fend for themselves. He left us out to dry and what is worse is he claims to be a victim as well.
Clayton Morris was a news anchor on Fox and Friends, had his own podcast and appeared on other credible podcasts like Robert Kiyosaki, Bigger Pockets and Get Rich Education. He then used that credibility to con unsuspecting investors like myself and hundreds of others like me to fork over hard cash, hundreds of thousands of hard earned money to him for a rental property that he promised to rehab or build as new and find renters.
Clayton Morris & Natalie Morris are nothing but frauds and con artists. His accomplice Bert Whalen, owner of Oceanpointe Investments is also a fraud who stole peoples money and is living high and mighty on the water with a yacht in Florida.
The sad part is despite the numerous complaints against Clayton Morris, he continues to pretend that he is helping people by selling them properties and delivering content in his podcast. He has more than 200 complaints against him in Indiana alone. He also has committed fraud in Florida using the same bait and switch techniques. Now he has moved to the Detroit-Michigan market doing the same thing tricking and trapping unsuspecting common folks with his smooth fast talk and with his conniving wife by his side.
I have also filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General but have no idea how long that will take and what that resolution would be.Clayton"
