Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"While pursuing my PhD with Capella University, and after completing all of my courses with an A- or better. I began my comprehensive exams. After multiple problems with the process, including changes to the process, and readers during the process I was administratively withdrawn from the University. I worked very hard and have hundreds of pages of research research on my topic. My only goal was to complete my studies but Capella continued to moved the goal post. I am deeply in debt due to this and have no degree to show for this and because I am unable to advance in my career, I have no means by which to repay this debt. Please help.

  • This doesn't help! I am frustrated with the Capella Process, and their inability to help resolve this problem (NO DEGREE) and the red tape used to support their inaction. All I want is the ability to complete my degree, but if this is impossible a refund is requested!

  • Can you explain more about how the process changed and how Capella moved the goalposts? I would be extremely interested in the specifics.

My experience is that when you start a graduate degree, the requirements are extremely clear and you have strong support to ensure that you're hitting the marks. Your adviser should approve any change to a dissertation topic before you get too deeply into it.

If this was not your experience with Capella, then the program is inadequate and in my view should be investigated. Have you contacted the accrediting body and/or the The House Committee on Education and the Workforce?
