Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I, Kelly Deeds and Zachary Charles purchased a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Byers Outlet on August 20, 2011. On September 11, 2011 we were driving the Jeep, the engine began to stutter and RPM's were dropping. This happened 4 times while driving that day. Due to it being Sunday, Byers was closed so we went to Auto Zone. At Auto Zone, our Jeep was connected to a diagnostic computer and 7 troubleshooting codes showed up. Auto Zone printed the troubleshooting code receipts and gave them to us. On September 12th I called Byers outlet to ask about getting the Jeep inspected and told them that we have purchased a 2 year warranty on the Jeep. I set up an appointment for Sep. 14. When dropping the Jeep off, I presented the troubleshooting receipts to the mechanic. He said he would call me when he figured out what was wrong. They called the next day and told me that the problem was not covered under warranty. I told them we have not even had the vehicle 30 days and it is already breaking down. Byers was refusing to cover the maintenance. Now they said they will pay for half of the charges. We have not had the Jeep 30 days and we were told when we bought it that maintenance had been done."
