Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I bought a modem from buyyourownmodem.com that Comcast said belongs to them after I started using it. When I notified buyyourownmodem.com of the problem and asked for an exchange or a refund, they refused to do so. Comcast continues to charge me a rental fee even though I purchased the modem. buyyourownmodem.com refusees to exchange the modem, and I am stuck. If buyyourownmodem.com is a legitimate business, I don't understand why they won't simply exchange the modem for a new one."

Respondent: (Comment):
"Very shocked to see that person claims they are entitled to $50/hr as this is just extortion in asking for over twice the price of the purchase price and is based on what? Nonetheless since this complaint has been filed Comcast has since been sent a letter by the United Stated senate regarding charging their customers illegally for customer purchased owned modems and then was later fined by the FCC for reverse option billing practices so it is not correct to attack Buyyourownmodem but to resolve the matter between Comcast and the FCC.
