Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"the owner states that I was told outright about a jeep i bought being a salvage title. The paper work was ver shadey at best as i did sign the paper for the title. I did not know it was a salvage title and i have a witness that was with me the whole time who is going to testify that the owner chris platts never ever mentioned the jeep had a salvage title. I feel chris was not fair and honset. I tried to speak to him and he was rude and would not listen to my side of the story. He is required by law to verbally disclose info on a salvage title which he did not.........myself and my witness will testify to this fact and i am willing to take a polygraph test to show that i am being honset in what i am saying!"

Additional Communication Between Claimant and Mr. Chris Platts Hide
  • Mar 13, 2012, Mr. chris platts (responding party) added:
  • Written notice of the "branded title" was posted clearly in the passenger side window of the jeep. Also in the ad posted on line. Verbal disclosure was made on all paperwork including "branded title disclosure" signed by the complaintant. Mr. Riggs purchased said vehicle on 10-14-12. It is now 3-13-12. He first filed a complaint with the BBB with out ever attempting to contact me. I suspect they have closed their case due to the preponderance of evidence I have forwarded to them. I find the accusations slanderous and his actions bordering on harrassment and will take appropriate legal action accordingly if this continues.

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • bbb has not closed the case and Chis is not telling the truth as he never disclosed verbally to me or my witness about the title being salvage, once again he is trying to make himself look like an honset dealer and he is not!!

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • i would never ever buy a car with a branded title unless i was dupped which i was by Chris.

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • it was not posted on the jeep window and i just found out about the title when i put the vin number in car fas and found out it had been totaled..again i would of never bought this jeep had i really know the truth of what happened to it..mr platt know this and did what he could to cover it up...HE DID NOT MENTION THIS TO ME OR MY WITNESS AND I WILL TESTIFY AS SUCH AND SO WILL MY WITNESS!!

  • Mar 13, 2012, Mr. chris platts (responding party) added:
  • Typo correction to last response: Said vehicle was purchased on 10-14-10 instead of 10-14-12. With my response posted on 3-13-12

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • I just spoke with the bbb and they have not closed my claim in fact they said with my witness I should get an attorney and go after 90th and state motors. The case is not closed , once again mr platts is guessing and giving false info. maybe this is posted on a car window also!!!!

  • Mar 13, 2012, Mr. chris platts (responding party) added:
  • If Mr. Riggs would actually read my response he would see that I used the word "suspect" meaning I was guessing the BBB closed the case. Perhaps Mr. Riggs should read a little more carefuly in the future so as to avoid such errors.

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • Lets go this route HERE IS THE VIN NUMBER OF THE 2001 JEEP WRANGLER I BOUGHT FROM 90TH SO AND STATE 1J4FA49561P307971 PUT THIS VIN NUMBER INTO CAR FAX AND READ THE THE REPORT AND SEE IF ANY OF YOU WOULD OF BOUGHT THIS JEEP. I WOULD NOT HAVE IF I KNOW THE TRUTH..

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • IF MR PLATT WILL PAY FOR A POLYGRAPH TEST I WILL TAKE IT ANY DAY ANY TIME AND POST THE RESULTS HERE FOR ALL TO SEE..PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS. YOU JUST TELL ME THE TIME THE DAY AND WHERE AND I WILL BE THERE!! AND SO WILL MY WITNESS.

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • typical salesman, gives half truths and sits on the fence so he can jump one way or the other to try and make himself look good...no matter who he screws over.

  • Mar 13, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • i did read read your statement and i said you were guessing, maybe mr platt should read what i posted and not make comments without make an azz of himself.

  • Mar 16, 2012, Claiming party added:
  • mr Platt, from now on make sure with out a doubt that a buyer knows if you are selling a car that has been totaled. I really did not know.It may of been an oversight on both our parts but I would never buy a car with a branded title. I never have and never will..The b.b.b. has not closed this case but I am going to close everything and wish you good success down the road.

  • What do you mean by "Shadey"? Do you think that the seller intentionally made the contract unreadable? Or you didn't look over the contract and signed it without reading it?
If the salvage title is specified in the contract it's your fault for not reading the contract. But if the owner was obliged by the law to verbally disclose the salvage title, you might have a chance to solve this problem (but to be honest I don't know the law) .
