Dear People Claim,

I am reporting a company that is SCAMMING people with false hopes of possible home acquisitions.

In short, they charge the consume $200. for a 90 day trial, so that future home owners can possibly take over "home owner's mortgages"), with the attempt to eventually buy. This is commonly known as Rent or Lease-to-Own or what this company is attempting to sell to the customer. I had originally called AmericanStandardon-line, one day after I registered and paid $200. The reason being the never sent me or shared with me on the phone that the consumer MUST send out paperwork to request if seller's (in my neighborhood, Charleston, South Carolina), would be interested in this request to let the consumer, take over their mortgage payments, with a hefty down payment, and inevitability to buy/own the home of the seller.

After several calls to the company I found that their scam was to ALWAYS hold you on the line for 15-20 minutes. They did this by ALWAYS have a recording saying that the consumer was #8 waiting on line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Each representative swore, naturally that their company was legit and had an impeccable reputation! Like I believe this scam. So they sent me the rules and regulations IN ORDER for me to receive my refund of $200. However, they e-mailed me pages of small printed pages stating "procedures" I had to follow in order to receive my refund. Considering I NEVER was sent this information when I registered, I was flawed by this documents suggestions.

1. I had to send a certified letter for my cancellation, although I notified the company right after my 90 day contract. They had also sent me a (received) cancellation(via my call) e-mail.

2. The consumer MUST send the company, "Rejection" letters or calls, from the seller's.

3. I sent the paper forms to potential addressee's/seller's, they supplied, along with a letter from myself, with a self addressed, stamped envelope addressed to me to share their thought and/or they could call the listing number of the company.

As I stated earlier (above), I called them after my letters were sent and they said the NEVER received and rejection and that I was responsible for continuing to find potential seller's!

I sent a "Certified Letter", which they received on May 5th. They told me they never received it! They said I might have to wait UP TO 6 MONTHS to receive a refund!

I would kindly appreciate if the BBB can investigate this company;

  • As of May 5, 2014, AmericanStandardOnline received my CERTIFIED "Cancellation Request" as per our conversation(several times during the four months of our communications). I now would like my money BACK! There are 307 client complaints with the BBB. All are UNRESOLVED! If all my money is refunded by May 22nd, I will remove my complaints to EVERY Craigslist in the US, and others.
