Claimant says:
"I purchased a new VW Passat SEL Premium and from the beginning had a wind nose in the upper area of the driver's window that could not be resolved. It was worse when driving into a headwind or when there was a crosswind.

I took the vehicle back to the dealership about three times and then a regional representative came to the dealership, drove the car, and acknowledged that the wind noise was present, but it was normal for that car. I filed a complaint with the MN State Attorney Generals's office (File No. PCM/2013/497896/C and the AG's response from VW America was basically the same in that the wind noise is within the normal operation of the vehicle. Note: this wind noise did not show up only at highway speed, but at speeds around and above 40MPH.

I sold the car, took a $7000 hit on the car from what I paid for it (driven about 2,000 miles) and their response now is that as a goodwill gesture, I can receive a $1500 goodwill gesture from them if I want to buy or lease a new VW. To me, that is more a means to buy me off than goodwill; it means to me there is a problem, but VW is not willing to do anything about it and would rather pay me off and have it just go away.

My son in law in California has an acquaintance who also sold his VW Passat for the very same reason as I sold mine; the wind nose was not bearable."
