Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"On Sept 5 I called Verizon Fios informing them that I'm moving and need their services moved to my new location. They confirmed an appointment for Saturday Sept. 12, 2014 between 1PM to 5 PM. On that date I called at 3 PM for a status report. The appointment was cancelled without bothering to inform me! The reason used was because 'Fios service is not able in my area.'
Which is kind of odd since the other tenants, in this apartment building, have Fios. The Customer Service Rep. investigated this matter and assured me that a Verizon engineer will call me on Monday, Sept. 14.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16 I called Verion to cancel my order since I received no call backs.
and went with another provider. I went one week with no TV, Interent or phone service.
Also, I wanted to keep my old phone number (718-837-1616) since it's been in my family for close to 60 years. In order to have my old number transferred over to my new provider I must first have that number reactive by Fios, as told by a Verizon rep.
I called Verizon to have that number active again. It was explained to me that a tech has to setup the line at my new location to have the transfer done. I agreed for an appointment of Saturday, October 4, 2014 between 8AM - 12 Noon with the assurance that this will be the first stop the tech will be dispatched to.
It's now 10 AM and when I called Verizon for a status AGAIN this job was cancelled with NO REASON GIVEN! AND NO CALL BACK TO INFORM ME SO!
I want Verizon to pay me for the stress it put me through through their incompetence by: paying my installation costs of going to another provider, one year cable bill, and they must incurred ALL expenses and costs of having my phone number transferred over.
