Claimant says:
"I am not seeking revenue against Marchands just want to make other people aware of the manner that I was treated. When I signed the final financial documents I told Marchands I was going to file a complaint with the BBB. My complaint starts with the estimate. I made it very clear I needed the work on the bathroom remodel and kitchen island completed in 3 weeks and was assured that would not be a problem. We agreed any work completed by me would be deducted from the total. The estimate/bid took almost two weeks to complete because it had to be OK'ed by everyone it seemed. By the time the estimate was finally completed I had prepared the kitchen for the quartz slab to be laid and had removed the existing ceramic tile and one piece bath enclosure in the bathroom. At that time I was told the demolition of the bathroom would be $800. As time went on that figure was pushed back to just over $600 because Marchands kept the rest of the money for hall-off, of what I don't know. Anyway time went on and they were finally complete with the job in just under eight weeks. I had also completed several other task or they were not required and had asked to see a line item breakdown just so I could see I had not been charged for this work. Marchands refused to show me and said they never show anyone that information. The end result was Marchands had written all the items in question on a final document they provided and it showed there was not a charge for these items. And I was told "you just have to trust me". I would not recommend anyone using this company based on the time of completion and all of the broken promises."
