Claimant says:
"I purchased a Janome DC1050 Quilting sewing machine on 2/11/12. It has a 25 year warranty. On 5/12/14 I called the online company where I purchased it to see where I could take it for warranty work. They named the closest business that was approved for this work. The next day I took it there. On 5/14 the establishment called me and told me the price for said work. I called the online company to see what was going on with the warranty. They asked me what was wrong with the machine. I told them that the hook was broken. They responded that it was not covered under the warranty. I feel that if the machine no longer sews then it should be covered under the warranty. What use is a sewing machine that does not sew?"

  • Janome already responded to this person. Please see our response here:
    "We are sorry to hear of your complaint. The 25 year limited warranty on a machine purchased new from an authorized Janome dealer or from one of our authorized retailers gives the original owner one year of free labor. After the first year of ownership, the free labor portion of the warranty is no longer in effect and the consumer is responsible for labor charges and any parts not covered under the warranty. Wear and tear parts, which includes the hook, are not covered by the warranty."
