Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I have called directv about this problem in the past and nothing has been done and it continues to happen. I subscribe to the "sports pak" which includes many channels such as the NHL Network and some regional Comcast Sports Net channels. I also have a local channel package through them which does not include WGN Chicago, even though the town 5 minutes east of my location does receive this channel. I however get WGN America which does not show any Chicago sporting events. My problem is this; whenever a Chicago Blackhawks game (or Bulls) is televised on WGN Chicago and on one of the other channels that I DO subscribe to, it blacks out the channel that the game is on that I AM able to watch. I CAN'T WATCH THE GAME ON WGN CHICAGO BECAUSE I DON'T GET IT BUT IT STILL BLACKS THE GAME OUT ON THE CHANNELS THAT I PAY EXTRA FOR!!!!! This is beyond annoying and should also be illigal. I called the Directv "customer service" number and calmly explained my case to a nice representative, located in Pennsylvania, for nearly half an hour. She said she was going to transfer me to another division that handled local channel zoning, or something like that. When I showed concern that I may have to retell my entire story to the next person who picked up my call, she assured me that the "computer system" would see that my call was sent to the correct associate and that I need not worry. After holding for almost 15 minutes, I knew that when the associate who greeted me when I finally got through had the exact same title as the one who had transferred me, that I would have to explain the story again, only this time to a representative in either Nebraska or Nevada, I can't remember. Another 15 minutes passed trying the same procedures as the lady in PA did, finally I got her to put me on the phone with her supervisor (whom, by the way, sounded like he was about 22, and not to mention rude as hell), who quickly told me that there was nothing he could do and that I needed to call the local channel that I was having the problem with. This last part erked me to the point of just throwing my hands up and hanging up the phone. Why should I contact a local station that I don't even subscribe to in order to resolve an issue I am having with the service provided by directv? Isn't that part of the deal? That they handle business with the channels that they provide for me to watch? I either need a refund for the channels that I pay for that black out during a blackhawks game, or just LET ME WATCH THE FREAKING GAME!!!!"
