Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"I hired Cuyahoga construction to cut down some trees William/Bill Burke told me I had to pay half up front and the rest when the job was done so I agreed so on Feb 15th I gave Bill Burke 1500 dollars he did some work but not much he said the weather was to bad for work to be done that went on for a while then on March 6th some workers showed up to work on the tree and he told me we had sign the contract for the other tree I wanted cut down so I did he said the one tree would be finished today so I believed him and paid the remaining balance of 1500 dollars and gave him 1000 down for the other tree so on March 6th 2016 I gave Bill Burke 2500 dollars and signed the other contract for the other tree. In the beginning Bill Burke told me it would take 1 week to finish the job. Well Bill Burke got the money and said he had another appointment and said he would be back later in the evening. As time went on the workers took a break and one asked were did Bill go and we told them he would be back later that he had another appointment .The workers told us that Bill hired them from craigslist and they were worried about getting paid .Well Bill never showed up the next day I found a note on my door saying Bill went out of town for a funeral and he will be back on Tuesday or Wednesday in the mean time those workers sent two more guys to lay the tree so that cost me 350 dollars .Bill did call me when he got back from out of town or where ever he was at and was aware that the other guys laid the tree and that I paid them 350 dollars and he said he was going to send workers out to cut it up and start on the other tree . Well someone did come out and worked for about 2 hours .The neighbor next door said he dint stay long . I was also told that the people he had sent out dint know what they were doing . I tried to contact Bill Burke and he want answer my phone calls or return any I have left him many messages it seams as though he took my money and ran."
