Claimant says:
"I received a letter in November, 2014 stating I qualified for a FREE TABLET - the Verizon LG G Pad 8.3. I went to the Verizon store located in the Newport Center Mall, Jersey City, NJ for clarification of the letter and was told I also qualified for an Ellipsis 7 Tablet. Both tablets required that I agree to a 2- year service charge at $10 per month for each tablet ($20.00). I took this offer and obtained both tablet. I am having issues with both of these tablets, inasmuch, I had to order a new charger for the Ellipsis the beginning of this year and now I have a problem with the LG, which will not turn on. This is not the first time I have had this problem with this LG. I have been in contact with your support center numerous times and they have been unable to help me. They have tried to resolve the problem, but after numerous attempts, I was informed it was a manufacturing defect and the tablet warranty was only for 1- year. My complaint is I am locked into the contract until November 2016 and unable to use this device. I have checked the Verizon site and see that there are a number of complaints similar to mine that was brought to your attention. I have been a loyal Verizon customer for a number of years paying over $400 per month for your service. As of date, I have paid $260 for these defective tablets and locked in to another $240 for another year of non-use. If you cannot resolve a small complaint such as this, I will have to seek some other avenues."
