Claimant says:
"Mr. Coy Patterson was referred to me by a friend that had used him for some upholstery work. I contacted Mr. Patterson, he came to my house on May 6, 2016, with samples and after 4 hours, he left with my deposit check of $1,800.00. He cashed the check right away. He said he was backed up and it would be awhile before he would begin the job, however, he was going to order the fabric. I was in no hurry at the time & said that would be alright.
August 4, 2016, three months later, I have not heard a word from Mr. Patterson, gave him a call and was told his upholsterer was dealing & helping his wife that was going through cancer. He was waiting on him to return to work.
August 26, 2016 - I drove to Wylie, Tx to locate Mr. Patterson, I did find his home and he came to the door, but never opened it. We talked through the door. He said he was waiting for the fabric to come in from China. At this time I told him I wanted my money returned to me in full. I was not impressed, at all, by his business tactics. Not professional.
One week later I phoned him & he told me he was waiting for an infusion of money in about 3 weeks, please give him time. I told him he left me no alterative but to take legal action. He said not to file on him, I would not get the money anyway.
December 2, 2016 - Today was our court date, after finally filing, Mr. Patterson did not appear."
