Statement of Claim
Claimant says:
"His "Business" is called AAA Pools and Spas.
He came on May 7, 2013 to open our above ground pool. I called him as Mr. Ben, the 77 year old owner of the farm/pool, has had a stroke, is deaf, is on a walker and was completely unable to open it this year. (I am his caregiver, Ann Skinner.)
Mr. Ben had been able to drain the pool down to about a foot and a half...to help Mr. Hodges out as much as possible. Mr. Hodges and his wife came, A DAY LATE....and they had not called us to say they went on another call the day they were to be here. I was concerned when they didn't come all day, so I called to check on them. Brad told me, "he would be on the phone all day, if he called all his customers". That should have been a red flag to me right there. But, we needed HELP.
When they did show up the next day....they, between the 2 of them, might have scooped a total of 10 scoops of leaves out of the pool. Then Brad put the hose in the pool, turned it on and said they would be back on Thursday to hook up the pump and add the chemicals and finish removing the leaves. He came in the house and wrote out a "sort of a contract" on a legal pad we had....because he forgot his receipt book. He also got a check for $200.00 and wrote that each additional visits would be $56.00.
We have not seen anything of them since! Ben has called twice and I have also called at least 2 times also. I used different phones, as he had been hanging up on us when he saw our number....I wanted to talk with him, or at least leave him a message. Strangely, his cousin has a horse farm next to us, when Ben spoke with her....he found out that she thinks he is BAD NEWS and has even done prison time!
Hoping other customers will not get DUPED like we have.
Thank you for any help you can give us!
Sincerely, Ann Skinner"
