S Graham vs Black Lane Auto Parts

Plaintiff
Black Lane did a shoddy engine job in my 2001 Plymouth Neon (no longer have it because the engine died a second time). They kept my car for about 3 weeks and when my dad checked out my job the engine was loose, there were several screws loose on it. I had to spend at least $3500 fixing their errors. The owner claims they are not responsible but the engine died again in February 2016 and I had to get another vehicle, the belt broke while I was on the highway and I could have been hurt. I have asked them to compensate me due to their shoddy work and plus the owner tried to claim to the Illinois Attorney General that I did not bring my car back to them even though my dad talked to Chis and the tow shop verified that my car was towed to their shop on 3/17/14 just 3 days after they put the engine in my car.

Bring them to small clams court. Bring all your paper work. Also look the company up on BBB sight as well as the consumer report. You can check to see if they have a legal business license from the town hall. All this is public information and can be easily accessed...

Response for loss – I would file a complaint with your Attorney General's office then write them with that you want to settle out of court for the amount owed to you.

I am only asking for the $3500 for the repairs that I had to make so my car could pass the emission test to get my tags which is required and the $150 rental car fee ( I had to rent a car for a week).
