Business O. says: Late 2019 I changed my llc to a scorp. Due to slow processing on their end (2020 they took many months off) I filed and paid 2019 return with my old ein number… Because they would penalize me if I didn’t. I corrected the account number and ein with them several times in person, over the phone, and via mail. Finally in 2021, they told me in person it was resolved. Now in 2023 they’re asking for the money again and added a large penalty. Banks do not keep that info past 2 years. Wish me luck in proving I paid it for the millionth time.

Brenda D. says: The department of revenue constantly every month miss applies my sales tax payments or just plain ignores them. one will clear the account the other 2 will be ignored completely I have 3 locations. I file on line and pay online every month there is a blatant disregard and miss handling of my payments made on line at the time of filing. They refuse to take any responsibility, using the (if we don't admit there's a problem, we certainly don't have to fix it) and we can charge penalties and interest every month if we just miss apply and refuse to post payments, even though we are bound by law to post those payments. You know the no accountability law that the Colorado department of Revenue enjoys. if this happened a couple times a year I wouldn't be this upset. This happens every single month i file 3 returns and 3 payments and they will post one ignore the other 2 or just ignore them period when I show them I posted the payments they tell me its my responsibility to make sure they take it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR JOB!! NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ANY THING THEY DO IT'S APPALLING!!

Jane D. says: Aggressively incompetent! They will cash your check and STILL demand payment.
Make sure you keep a copy of your state tax returns-as well as copies of all payments - for a minimum of 7 years. They'll try to claim that you still owe them money at some point.
