Dee L. says: ICU staff very unprofessional and uncaring. Makes mistakes and one nurse is cold as ice (Amanda). She forgot to hook up suction machine on patient. Told doctor patient spit at her when patient was swishing water in mouth and tried to spit in cup and missed. Elderly patient. Poor quality of care, rooms are dirty. Nurses leave used syringes laying around, throw empty IV bags in chair patient is supposed to sit in.

Mike B. says: My wife went in for shoulder surgery(outpatient).2 hours after being home after the pain medicine wore off we had to return by ambulance to the ER,which is where we have been for 17 hours now and still haven’t been put in a normal room. While in the ER they did a CT scan but there is no one here that can read the scan,we were told by a ER nurse the initial look looks like her shoulder is out of socket. There are no regular rooms to take us to,so they say.The dr that did the surgery hasn’t even came to check her out even after all this time sitting at the hospital the surgery was done at.

Jack M. says: I am a 75 year old disabled vet, victimized by Cat Scan staff bullying and patient profiling at Tenova Turkey Creek Medical Center. It began when a female Cat Scan employee facially-sneered at me, & spoke towards me in a hateful & disrespectful voice. As she did, I noticed her making eye contact with a fat male employee who was looking at me menancingly. When I got into the Cat Scan machine, the woman made more hostile derogatory remarks. When it was over and I started to get up, she again spoke to me hatefuly and with insult. I told her that I didn't like her loud hostile tone of disrespect. The fat male I saw before, apeared and attemped to to jerk me to my feet. By voice and body language he threatened me again. I complained about his bullying manner and attempt at intimidation. He moved closer, pushing me as he argued. I complained again and he replied by mocking me and accusing me of doing the same thing to him. I felt that he was trying to goad me into an argument and fight so that he and his cronies could masquerade as victims. I warned him that I was not going to tolerate his bullying and he mocked me again, trying to force me to back down by advancing on me. The two thugs wanted me to grovel and lickspittle. I realized that whatever I said or did they would lie about, mututally supporting each other. Only my total humiliation would satisfy them. The sneer on the fat bully's face told me that he thought I was afraid. But I was afraid that they would get away with this assault. I suspected they had got away with similar attacks against seniors in the past. When I tried to leave, the fat bully blocked my exit and I had to go around him. Then he dogged me from behind and I expected a sucker punch at any time.
Complaints to the patient advocate were a waste of time. There are a lot of complaints against Tenova but this site lists only one.
