Lee T. says: I gave David Hall over 4500 items to sell in April of 2018. I am owed about $16000. He had not responded to 'phone calls or e-mails, I have complained to the local sheriff's office, the AG and the BBB. He does't care.

Alan C. says: It has been six months since my rare books were sold at National Book Auctions, and I have yet to receive any payment. David Hall does not reply to my emails and no one answers the phone. I do not trust this company, nor do I think should you.

Summer H. says: I consigned with this auction house, also affiliated with Worth Auctions, in October. Many of my more valuable books were sold in huge lots of 30-40 much less valuable, nondescript, books, they were not identified as signed or as first editions etc. I voiced my concerns on November 2nd, two days before the auction, and stated that I wanted my items pulled; they were not pulled and were sold for $10, $20, and $40 per lot when some of these books were worth over $1,000 each. I called the next morning, November 5th, and left a message stating that I wanted an itemized statement for all of my items ASAP. The contract I signed stated, "Worth will forward a settlement report and payment for my portion of the proceeds of this contract, to me within 30 (thirty) days following receipt and acceptance of all my property covered by this contract, by all high bidders." It has now been nearly three months since my items sold and I have not yet received an itemized statement nor the money owed to me. The CEO, and Galleries Manager initially gave me the runaround, telling me my consignment was being completed etc., now they have stopped returning my emails and phone calls. The auction has now stopped answering the phone altogether. The auction owes me more than $3,000.00. This auction house is fraudulent. Upon my attempt to get them to respond, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau where I found 3 pages of complaints identical to mine. I was selling these items for my father, a disabled Vietnam era Veteran that suffers from Multiple Sclerosis; I spoke to the CEO about the importance of this being my father's collection and how much it meant to him and how difficult it was for him to let it go but that my mom was chronically ill with Lupus and my father wanted the funds for her medical expenses and care. The fact that the CEO knew all of this and then proceeded to take advantage of my parents is unconscionable. Both Worth Auctions and National Book Auctions continue to have auctions on a regular basis and I am certain they must be stealing from more innocent consigners all of the time.
