Both my travel companion and I were booked on a Crystal River Cruise which was cancelled twice for Covid and then cancelled because Crystal went into bankruptcy.
My friend submitted her claim to Allianz with the exact same documentation I did ( I sent the relevant documents to her). My claim continues to languish. I have been asked for additional documentation which I sent. I was asked asked to file a dispute with my credit card company which I did. I haven’t heard a thing from the cc company and frankly don’t expect to. The initial charges were in 2019.
My friend was not required to do this before her claim was paid and the policy documents do not require this in order to file a claim. The documentation established the basic elements of the claim. Why should hers be paid and mine not?
When I resubmitted more documents to Allianz claims, I asked them that very question. They have failed to respond.
Truly bad customer service.

We have used Allianz insurance for multiple trips and (unfortunately) made quite a few claims. They have always been excellent. At one point my husband had an very scary emergency with his retina in Dubai. Allianz was really helpful, very comforting and practical, and found us an English-speaking retina specialist right away.
Claims have always been paid very promptly, even when I forgot to send in paperwork for far too long. Once I uploaded photos of my receipts while still on my delayed trip, and the check for the hotel was waiting by the time I got home. I cannot imagine anyone having a problem with them unless you don't understand the terms of the policy or don't get the correct paperwork.
