I was made aware of the expiration when I sent in my request for a cruise Dec 14th, for a cruise sailing May 2013. Found out about the cancellation when I called to check on the status of my request, first in February, person told me they weren't processing requests for May yet. So when I called back in March I was informed that my voucher expired and I could request a refund of my deposit, cruise deposit = $99. Once informed about cruise denial I didn't even attempt discussion of the air travel voucher, just requested refund of both, air deposit = $75. Representative spoken with told me the refund would take 6-8 weeks.
Sent in a request for the full refund $174, mailed 4/10/13, received 4/15/13 by VIP, so today 6/28/13, I call to check on the status of my refund and the representative proceeds to tell me that there was a cancellation period of 6 months beyond the expiration date.
Mind you my voucher states nothing about a refund period and if the deposit was for incidentals incurred during travel, and I didn't travel, nor did you provide me any services at all then what right does VIP have to keep the deposit. Frankly, once VIP cancelled the voucher they should have directly mailed back my deposit. I should not be paying them for inadequate service.*” ...Show less »
