Monzie T. says: I have been processing a claim from GEICO since 4 August 2016, they have not process my claim because of roof damage. I have been trying to process the problem through normal procedures, but GEICO sub my policy to Stillwater Insurance Company that is located in SC. This makes the process much more difficult because they are located on the East Coast and each time you call you get voice mail. I final got a respond and they will repair my home only on the inside and not the root cause that is my roof. I having been fighting them for two months and now I need a forensic engineer to look at my roof; this will not occur until 14 October 2016. I pulled my policy and it states that they will repair the external and internal damages of my home. I explain this to my adjuster and he said he need to verify what caused the damage hail or wind.

I told them that their adjust told me I had hail/wind damage and from the cracks the water is now under the tile. If this is not the cause it could be wind or maybe a meteor hit the roof. That I am not on my roof hitting tiles with a hammer.

The problem I have is that each year they confirm my location, square footage, age and condition of my home, if I had neglected upkeep why did they not refuse to insurance me. They have taken my monthly premium to insure my home now that it is time to process a claim I have been denied or place on hold; the more the rains come the more damage I receive, is this how the insurance company treats their customers? Until the external
problem is solved how can I repair the internal.

This to me is poor business practice from the insurance Company, why should a policy holder fight with their insurance company to get a claim process? They have no problem taking your money, but when a person has a problem it takes months to repair. The home owner is already under stress and to fight with your insurance company is an added emotion.
