Patricia S. says: My husband who is very hard of hearing fell and fractured his hip and was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood where he had immediate surgery for his fractured hip.I never received a call from whomever did the surgery. He had just undergone a shoulder replacement and no Dr, from Lawnwood has ever contacted me. He was to have started physical therapy and none of them seem to be able to ambulate him with a shoulder in a sling for a shoulder replacement. As an RN i am acutely aware of deficiencies that are occurring. Today was one of the worst errors I have eve encountered. Two aids moved him from a chair to the bed using his ostomy belt instead of a transfer belt. They could have incurred serious injury to his stoma had they dislocated the flange around the ostomy. Not being able to visit I cannot inspect his ostomy and staff appears to be not trained in the care of ostomy patients.

Terra A. says: This stay in this facility for my family member has been the worst experience ever. From the Doctor coming in to argue with us, to being given completely wrong diagnosis information when coming in as a Trauma patient, to rude nurses and other hospital staff, to being told by the Doctor who left our room and said ill be right back who never came back that "I must have forgotten" Completely unacceptable. Then the staff FORGOT to bring dinner for two nights in a row. There is a complete lack of professionalism and compassion from pretty much everyone I came in contact with. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL if you have another choice. And just to add to this, I don't care whether you have good bed side manner or not as long as you are doing your JOB!! This place is a complete mess and should have the state re-evaluate their Physician staff as well as the nurses. On a positive note the ONLY nurse that did his job at all was CARLOS in the Trauma ICU (TICU) He was awesome and should be moved up on the ladder, he could teach all of the other staff members a few things. So Thank you CARLOS!!
