Dana B. says: Instead of having Karpus Investment Management them invest in OXLC with your money and taking huge cuts, invest there yourself thru a broker and earn a great return in a solid opportunity. I plan to do this myself next month

Shannon B. says: Based on what my husband was told about their management services, our investments should have had a steady incline over the past 3 years. He was informed that they managed portfolios outside of the market, so even if the market went down, our investments would have a annual 6-8% growth. After 3 years, and thousands of dollars of 'management fees', our portfolio is even what we initially invested, plus the additional deposits we have made over the past 3 years. We have been in to meet with them multiple times, and have been met with the song & dance of change in staff, and market ups & downs (which was not supposed to have affected us). My husband signed a 5-year contract, so if we pull our money out now, we would have to pay even more. We should just take the bite, as we could do better on our own. I keep hoping that we will see some growth before we do that. Investments that we hold outside of Karpus have varying growth percentages, but are on target with what we planned and do not cost us 'management fees'. We invested with them solely to save for retirement, which we have had to push back at least five years because of their 'management'. If considering this 'investment management' firm, please understand that even if you do not find negative reviews, that doesn't mean there isn't any. The 'management fees' have not paid for management of our portfolio, but rather for their very cushy office, dinner parties, client appreciation events, etc.
