Donna V. says: The most important thing to realize when purchasing a home from North Florida Home Center, LLC DBA Jerry Corbett’s Mobile Home Center, Inc. is that they are only interested in SALES! They, including Treea Foster, Sales Manager, do not control what happens after the sale. Everything is done by subcontractors. The dealership does not control the schedule or the work ethic of the subs. Treea may give you a date that a process is going to take place, but that does not make it so. Treea will tell you these subs have worked for her for 20 years. What she does not mention is that these subs work for other people too. Treea will wait in line with everyone else. (One sub told us that sometimes Treea forgets to call in your work order then calls them and wants your work to be put at the top of their list. They do not work that way. You will wait your turn.)
You also need to be aware that if any of the subcontractors (well, septic, electric) decide to charge you more than you agreed upon in your contract, you WILL pay the additional amount before any more work is done on your mobile.
The team that married the interior of our double wide didn’t do all they were supposed to do. They left several things undone so we did them ourselves. It was easier than fighting the system.
Our biggest problem was with James Foley of Foley Home Transport Team. (He will gladly tell you he has been in the business for 40 years and knows what he is doing. Any problems we had was our fault.) He and his team delivered our double wide to our property at the end of November. They left cigarette butts, empty chip bags and water bottles around our yard along with pieces of broken concrete blocks. You also need to be aware that the balance is now due on your home. It is not complete. You cannot move in, but it is on your property so you have to pay for it in full now. (We paid cash. It may be different if you are financing.) Foley’s team came back in December to “marry” the exterior of the two halves together. (We were not there for these 2 visits). We sent pictures to Treea in December of the shoddy way our home was married. There were definitely problems at the ridge caps. She responded that she would get Foley back to our place to correct.
While we waited on Mr. Foley, a team from Fleetwood came to do warranty work inside. They were wonderful! However, they would not correct errors that were to be completed by the dealership.
In May, after repeated inquiries to Treea about when Mr. Foley would return, and him not showing up when promised, we contacted Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles department in Tallahassee. In a few days a Compliance Examiner for Manufactured Housing came to do an inspection. Not only did they find the problem with the ridge caps but a total of 6 things needed to be corrected by Mr. Foley. The state stayed in contact with Mr. Foley and in June, our home was finally completed
