Willie M. says: Took down my 96 Dodge Ram for two recalls. I called to see if these recalls were still honored. I was told yes by assistant service manager Marlene Rodriguez that it would be honored. I was instructed to bring the truck down so they could do a work order on it and that I could leave the truck. I had another person follow me down who took off from work to bring me back home after dropping it off. When I arrived things went sour, I was told one of the parts, which was the vapor canister was no longer being made. They could not get it, however the ignition key switch was in stock but wouldn't be in for a few days. I did not have to leave the truck. I apologized to my friend for taking off from work a couple of hours enable to give me a ride back home. The assistant service advisor then told me she would call me when the part came in. I waited over a week, no call. I followed up and then found out the part was in. I was told to bring the truck back any day for the installation of the ignition key. I found another person to follow me down so that I would have a ride back home. I arrived at Don Davis in Arlington to find out that the warranty would not be honored. The Assistant Service Manager said that the mechanic informed her that the part was as needed, therefore he felt that the old one in place was not worthy of changing. I went through all of this hassle trying to get what should have been handled and honored by a dodge vehicle owner. My question and concern is where in that situation is customer care or customer first. The part was ordered, part was there, why not just put it on? Totally seems like they didn't want to work on the vehicle because of it's age. The vehicle is being totally restored and is in outstanding running condition. I'm putting this on social media. I'm asking Fox 4 channel news to air. I'm sending to BBB. I'm sending to the cooperate office. A lousy switch, COME ON!
