Marsha D. says: They are the ONLY electricity provider in my part of VA. Therefore they are allowed to do AND charge whatever they choose. Customers have NO recourse other than to pay what they say or have their service disconnected! They may charge $500/600 security deposits Multiple times throughout your service no matter how long you have been a customer. Absolutely NO SYMPATHY for the disabled, low-income families, or the elderly. Came to shut off my power even though I have 3 school age children, am disabled, and was not past due on my bill, Only the $508 security deposit! I contacted the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, and the State Security Commission and received no relief. I had to borrow a payday loan with a 386% interest rate! Yes, 386%! Thank you the monopoly of AEP for sticking it to your customers!
