About Lara

Lara Traum is a lawyer and mediator with The Law Firm and Mediation Practice of Alla Roytberg, P.C., offering assistance in prenuptial, postnuptial, matrimonial, real estate, and trust and estate matters. She is fluent in Russian and licensed to practice law in NY, NJ and CT.

Lara received her Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, cum laude, with a Concentration in Family and Matrimonial Law and a Jacob Burns Medal for Scholastic Achievement. She received a Bachelor of Arts from New York University. In law school, Lara was the Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution. She won first place at national and international Cyberweek eMediation competitions, as well as second place in the Northeast Regional ABA Representation in Mediation Competition.

Lara is a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution and Children and the Law Committees, the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, and the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York. She is also on the Board of Directors of COJECO (Council of Jewish Emigre Community Organizations) as well as the Board of Directors of the Townsend Harris High School Alumni Association. Lara’s writing on mediation and family law has appeared in numerous publications, including the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and the Family Court Review.
