About George Michael

The first half of my working life was as  a business owner in the construction industry.  This gave me mediation strengths in construction, construction defect, real estate issues, and contract issues.  I worked as a paralegal for 10 years and then mediation.  I have several degrees and certifications -- BA in communications and fine arts which I have incorporated the core of my mediation process from Buckminster Fuller whom I studied under in Carbondale, Illinois.  A mediation certificate from UCLA followed by auditing community property and family law at the law school, which gave me a basic background in corporate law and dissolution of marriage.  I studied mediation with six providers covering numerous basic programs leading up to intermediate and advanced training in Dissolution of Marriage issues and general advanced training at Mosten Mediation Training in Los Angeles.  I spent one year in law school which covered all the basics -- torts, contracts, and criminal law.  When I worked for the Los Angeles County Superior Court as a mediator, although I identified my strengths as construction, I was given a broad range of cases including everything from constructive eviction, medical insurance claims, copyright infringement, torts, contracts, community issues involving ten parties at interest.  The largest case I have handled was $1million.  When I worked as a paralegal I managed multi-law firm insurance subrogation involving CERCLA Superfund cases, large scale asbestos class action cases, mergers and acquisitions, and individual slip-n-fall cases.  I have a masters degree in nonprofit administration from University of San Francisco with an organizational development emphasis and occasionally provide strategic planning, change management, training, and executive coaching services.  I also have a BSN nursing degree.  I worked in the peace community in the nonprofit field for 15 years and authored a book entitled, World Peace: the Guide to Reconcile the Children of Abraham.  It is a book essentially on mediation with the central thesis that the three Abrahamic religions should come together and learn how to operate as three organs of one body, basically via mediation processes.
