Claimant says: "Jay Bertram hired me to be a Project Manager and Administrative Assistant for Bluegrass Medallions in July 2010. This company produced exclusive medallions for the World Equestrian Games. I performed administrative work, filed for licences, did business development, appeared in a commercial and assisted in procurring investment funds and/or loans. Mr. Bertram has not paid me for the work that I completed. I presented him with an invoice which included dates worked, hours worked and tasks completed. I complied with all of his requests regarding backup for the work completed. Mr. Bertram refuses to answer or return phone calls, reply to emails or have any contact with me. I have periodically telephoned and emailed him asking for payment. The initial invoice was for $3,500, on December 22, I offered to reduce the amount to $2,000 to settle the debt. He has yet to respond. I know for a fact he still owes his investors. I have been unemployed since March 2010 and really need this money. I have appealed to his sympathy, threatened a law suit (small claims is a max of $1,500) and asked nicely, nothing works. I went into this job with good faith and performed the duties requested, he should be willing to pay the work completed. I don't know what you can do for me, anything to let people know what type of business man he really is will at least make me feel better. Thank you.
