Claimant says: "I had a fire in an apartment and Sampson Construction was chosen for the board up and rebuild. They have been paid in full with the promise that there would be no out of pocket experiences. The insurance paid for the appliances but what Sampson did was to put in a used dishwasher INS paid $426.24 they installed a used one 50 dollars all day, I had a microwave over the counter INS (paid 265.88) but they installed a hood which cost around 35.00 dollars. I had about the same kind of fire in the next building over 6 months prior it took 3 months to rebuild Sampson took over nine months and still has not finished the project, I have a chimney that still needs a cap and side vent . My water sprinkler system control box that takes care of 3 properties they didn't replace that because it was going to cost to much so they just left the wire exposed and flopping around, the estimated cost too replace is between $500.00 and a thousand dollars. The kitchen was not put back together right I had to buy a small refrigerator instead of what I have in the other 11 units. They were supposed to reimburse me $3000.00 so I signed over the last insurance check. Then they wrote me a check for $3000.00 which Chris Sampson put a stop payment on the check, they ripped me off. With the BS of we will take care of it all. Some of my apartments flooded because of no electricity in the burned out apartment as the only sump pump is in that apartment, for the rest of the 4 plex. Then we had a storm with high winds and loosing electricity they claim to have spent $4500.00 drying out apartments. My girlfriend and I did most all of the work using my own equipment out there. I ended up having to replace carpet in two apartments out of my own pocket. I have had a few wet apartments before and with the same damage but was only charged 3 hundred from a rebuttable company. A carpet drying machine on the average cost between $2 to $4 hundred dollars, and for them too want to charge $4500 dollars while myself and my girlfriend DID the work and taking care of the damage. We was over taking care of the apartment trying to get things dry for several day. Sampson Construction was nowhere to be seen. I was told from one of my tenants was told set the AC a little lower, yes that will do the same thing but they got paid for something that they didn't even do!! They didn't even bother to pick up their own carpet drying machine. I had an extra hand rail that was given to Sampson to paint instead of having more out of pocket experiences.
Sampson Construction was paid by INS 1804.74 for apartment 103. I replaced all the carpet due to damage from the firemen and water damage. I had no idea he was paid for my out of pocket expenses. I think that and above monies kept is insurance fraud.
I had a hand rail which I gave Sampson to paint and use in apartment 104, Ins PAID $109.78.
In one document enclosed from the insurance company Sampson received a month???s rent at $650.00 and the money for my stove ( 519.60) INS PD and refrigerator of (428.00) INS PD this is an out of the pocket expense for me due to their unethical business practices. I have asked for my copy of the contract several times and all of a sudden they can???t find it. The basement they were paid to replace the ceiling, but only replaced 2 or 3 pieces rather than the whole thing. Sampson Construction can't be counted on for their promises or statements that they do good work, cost you less, and can do the work in a timely manner without ripping you off and destroy your property(like not fixing what they tear up when there fixing your property.) One of the things they torn up and didn't fix was a wrought iron basement window guard. I don???t know the cost on this but can imagine it being somewhere around to four or five hundred dollars.
Sampson Construction stay away from this company spare yourself the pain and money .I???m pretty sure this can be considered INSURANCE FRAUD excessive billing and not doing the work properly or doing what they got paid for, not to mention keeping money that rightfully belonged to me .*” ...Show less »
