Claimant says: "I have had three mechanics appraise the 2004 S-60 Volvo and two out of the three said the car was not totaled. I have writen and stated this information to two representives of Teachers Insurance Company, Mr. Tom Carpini and William Pellino. They stated they made their decision and my car was totaled and that was that. I endured verbal abuse while they delivered their findings with no regards to what I had to say. I asked for an explanation of the procedure to estimate the price of my S-60 Volvo and was told that insurance companies use a comparable market value. They don't go accoding to the book value of a car. They offered me $7,500.00, for my car with me giving me the title so they can salvage the car. I told them my car was in the shop being repaired for a price that was 80% of the value of it's worth. They wanted nothing to do with where my car was, I was finally told on 3/16/11 by William Pellino that he needed my consent to mail out the check for my totaled vehicle. I told him I couldn't authorize something that I had no decision in. I was disagreeing with his decision why would I give him consent to move forward with it.
