Claimant says: "booked rental with kitty hawk for 8/27 to 9/3. on 8/27 were advised by the rental office our rental should be ready 8/28. 8/28 told us rental would be ready 8/29. 8/29 told us rental would be ready 8/30. the office told us 'we will call you when your unit is ready. we called kitty hawk on 8/26, to see if we should even drive from pa? they told us- yes. we asked for advise from kitty hawk if they could direct us with help finding a hotel to stay at, while awaiting the rental access, kitty hawk office staff hung up the phone. we called kitty hawk on 8/30 to see if our rental was ready, they said it was. we asked why didn't you call as promised to let us know, the office said they were too busy to call us. we arrived to our rental on 8/30. the rental still had all the storm boards up, no view of anything. we tried to call the rental office, they did not anwer the phone. my husband had to drive back to the rental office to let them know. they sent a maintence man out alittle while latter, but he could not do the job by himself, my husband had to help him carry the ladder and assist with removing storm boards. the room smelled of mildue and mold, tried to call office, again no answer. there was mold growing on the walls of our rental unit in the bathroom. on 9/2 at 5am we left our rental sick. we booked a rental for 7 days and stayed 3 days. the pool was posted closed, you could not go in the ocean because of all the debrie washing up. spent 3 days in hotels awaiting our rental, when in reality kitty hawk rental should of told us to stay in pa. we our seeking reimbursment of our rental unit of $1098.54 plus hotel costs of 403.29 total=$1501.83 '*” ...Show less »
